Chapter 14: Gettin' Sketchy In The Golden Afternoon...

"Little bread-and-butterflies kiss the tulips, and the sun is like a toy balloon. There are get up in the morning glories, in the golden afternoon. There are dizzy daffodils on the hillside, strings of violets are all in tune, Tiger lilies love the dandy lions, in the golden afternoon, the golden afternoon. There are dog and caterpillars and a copper centipede, where the lazy daisies love the very peaceful life they lead... "

Hello. We have a wonderful Sketch for you today designed by the lovely and mega-talented Jen Shults! Here's her awesome design:

Our sketch comes w/ just a small twist this week....
Ok, its HUGE!
ONE PLAYER will be chosen this week based on all of the entries (and we know it's going to be TOUGH!!!) to be our JUNE GUEST TEA PARTY MEMBER for Oh, Alice! That's right! The DT will be feverishly going through your creations to choose next month's Guest DT, so if you've been wanting to come and be our Guest at our totally TWISTED Tea Party, now is your chance!
Need some inspiration to get ya going? Check out the samples from our TOTALLY TWISTED Tea Party over at the Oh, Alice blog! :)

For my card, I used an image from Busy Beauties Boutique called "Friendship Blooms" from an Alice inspired series released in April. And *finally* broke out my Kioshi 6x6! I wanted the image and papers to shine, so I cut back a bit on the embellies, but I hope you can still see Jen's super fab sketch in there. (And sorry for the blurries toward the bottom right. I don't know what's up with that.)
We will leave this contest open until THURSDAY May 26th at 11:59 PM CST (please notice the earlier time limit this week just so we can have time to go over entries, contact the winner, and announce them by our next Challenge on the 28th!) to enter your creation. A preliminary note to all-since we know this is going to be a VERY hard decision, please do not be discouraged if your creation isn't chosen as we have plenty of opportunities coming up each month and have tons of fun up our sleeves! We are so thrilled that the blog is going strong and can't wait to see what's next for Oh, Alice!

Please don't forget to upload your creation using Mr. Linky and use keyword OAC14 if you use a public gallery, thanks! GOOD LUCK everyone!

Curiouser-ly yours,

Busy Beauties: Welcoming Spring with a Twist & Shout

We’ve got a “SPRING” in our step today and NEW Busy Beauties Boutique images in our hands, and are delighted to have you along for the hop! If you are just starting out, please be sure to hop back to Carolyn’s blog so you don’t miss any of the fun! If you are arriving here from Kadie's card-tastic blog, then you are right on track.

I had soooo much fun coloring up this new Rosey image - April Showers Rosey! Isn't she so cute?!? I love the details on her - she bright & cheery for Spring, yet wearing mittens. Hmmm....she must be from NE Ohio, too. LOL! (Apparently I am not as prepared for Spring as Rosey is - I could swear I have a 'Happy Spring' sentiment stamp, but I cannot for the life of me find it. Oh, bother.)

We hope you’ll join us for a TWIST & a SHOUT! The “TWIST” being our new GO GREEN WITH A TWIST Challenge (in honor of Earth Day) at the Busy Beauties Creation Station! And the “SHOUT” being a RELEASE PARTY over on Paper Craft Planet this SATURDAY AT 8 P.M. EDT.

Your next stop is the Creation Station, and we have lots of fun waiting for you! Thanks for bopping & hopping with us, and we hope to see you for the TWIST and SHOUT!

Springy Hugs,

********Scroll down for Oh, Alice post********

WELCOME! Today is a very BIG day for us, and we are way beyond excited! We hope you’ll join us on a fabulous journey as we travel through Wonderland with awesome new ALICE INSPIRED IMAGES from the Busy Beauties Boutique! Along the way, we’re also welcoming our April Guest DT SUSAN! Our final destination is our BRAND NEW BLOG: The Busy Beauties Creation Station!!!!! The adventure begins right here!

For my card, I used the BBB Caterpillar image. I love the idea of change, and what better symbolism than the transformation from caterpillar to butterfly. Not to mention, I couldn't resist this adorable little guy! :D

As always, we have HOP PRIZES! There will be 3 winners chosen from the comments left on certain DT blogs, but it's a secret which blogs we'll draw from! The prize for these winners is their choice of 1 Free BBB Image! So be sure to leave some love all along the way! Blog Hop Winners will be announced Sunday night on the Creation Station blog. And there is a prize package for the randomly selected winner of our Inaugural Challenge, so be sure to check that out at the end of the hop!

Your next stop is our fabulous Guest Susan! Enjoy the ride and when you finally arrive at the Creation Station, you’ll see our Inaugural Challenge is posted and waiting for you!

Happy Hugs,

PS- I'll be back later today to add another card that uses the new BBB Alice image!

New Releases from Busy Beauties

*hiding in corner* Sorry folks! My 2nd Hannah Belle creation is a bit delayed. Minor but majorly inconvenient health shtuff. I can't remember it exactly, but there's a line in Mrs. Winterborne something like, "What I couldn't do if it weren't for this body!" *sigh*

BUT, I do have goodness to share with you today! Busy Beauties has new images available today! This release includes the premier images in the BBB Zodiac series, and I'll be working with Love Drops over the weekend as I create my monthly swap cards, so be on the lookout Monday. Until then, hop over to the Boutique and take a look! Carolyn has dubbed this a "Mini-Release" but they are all GRAND in my book! :)

Busy Beauties New Release Blog Hop

Hi Friends!
We are soooooo excited about the new images Carolyn & Thomas have created for you! The Busy Beauties line has become so diverse and I am loving it all!

My card today features the ever adorable Rosey. There is a whole new series available today (in addition to the "We Go Together Like..." series which I featured in yesterday's post) called "Rosey & Randy" and they are just the sweetest! This particular image is a Rose from Rosey, but Rosey is no one trick pony. There are some super cute variations avaiable, perfect for winter & V-Day. You'll want to check them all out. ;)
I love that this image can be for Valentine's Day or an anytime Thinking of You card. I plan to make many more cards featuring the versatile Rosey & Randy series just to have on hand. They are so easy & fun to color up, especially when paired with yummy DP and a Mojo Monday sketch.

Your next stop is the wonderfully talented Carolyn's blog.

Hugs,

Crafty Creations Challenge by Busy Beauties

I'm taking a break from snowmen today to give you a sneak peek at one of the New Releases from Busy Beauties Boutique! Carolyn & Thomas have really out done themselves with this super cute line called "We Go Together Like..." and this Salt & Pepper set is just one of them. Is this not the cutest?!? And so perfect for Valentine's Day which will be here before we know it (and just as we hopefully kick our candy addiction from Christmas - LOL!).

The BBB Inspiration Brigade is even more excited than usual because today Busy Beauties is also sponsoring the new challenge at Crafty Creations Challenge Blog! It's a color challenge: Black, White & a splash of color. So fun! Hope to see your cards linked up on their blog. Please use keyword CCCW49 when loading to SCS. And please stop by our PCP group for fun chit-chat, sharing and maybe even a bit of inside scoop! *wink*

With the polka dot sheer ribbon and the micr0-polka pattern papers I used on this, I'm also entering this in the Crazy 4 Challenges C4C18. (Thanks for the heads up, Carolyn!)

See you tomorrow for our New Release Blog Hop!

Operation Write Home Blog Hop

Thanks for visiting today! If you've just joined us, we're hop, hop, hopping with Operation Write Home (fka Cards For Heroes) in honor of Veterans Day. To start at beginning of the hop, please go to the Operation Write Home Blog. **If you are following the SNR Friends of Faith Blog Hop, please scroll down to the next post.**

My card features the Lolita image from Busy Beauties. BB creator Carolyn suggested that Lolita could be made into a female version of Uncle Sam: Aunt Sammi. Isn't that the cutest? After hearing that, I couldn't resist coloring her up in Red, White & Blue. I made two of these and they will be going in care packages for Carolyn's brother and Janis's son, both currently deployed in the Middle East.

I'll be working on another card (and hopefully posting it Monday) that will be donated to Operation Write Home. They are currently collecting Valentine's Day cards, and this will be one the OWH sends to a Hero so that he/she can send it to a special loved one back home. Cards are always needed, so please stop by the Operation Write Home website for more information on how you can help.

I hope you'll continue hopping for our Heroes - the Brave Men & Women serving our Great Nation and keeping all of us safe and free! God Bless All of Our Heroes and God Bless America!

Your next stop on the hop is Anna.

But before you go, please leave a comment. If you do, your name will go into a special Hero Hoppers drawing, where one winner will be selected at random. The prize is your choice of Two Free Images from Busy Beauties Boutique! (Special thanks & love to Carolyn for her generous donation of this fabulous prize.) Comments posted by 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sunday, Nov. 15 are eligible. I'll select & announce a winner on Monday, Nov. 16, 2009.

Thanks for hopping!

Strawberry Lolita

Happy Tuesday! As promised, here is my first rendition of Strawberry Lolita from Busy Beauties Boutique! This cutie is just dripping in yummy strawberries! I was pretty literal with the color selections this time out. Even in the throes of my autumn love fest (making apple sauce, sipping pumpkin lattes, and wishing I could just sit in the yard and soak in the beautiful fall colors), I still love the idea of fresh strawberries, and thought this scrumptious pattern paper from We R Memory Keepers' Tiffany collection was a perfect pairing for a strawberry queen.
Lolita is colored in Copics, as is the bottom layer of flowers, and since the image is so perfectly accessorized, I pulled out practically every kind of embellie I own to maintain her unique style: dew drops, flowers, ribbon and buttons (oh my!). :D I love this image because she is so spunky & funky - she's definitely marching to the beat of her own drum, and spreading joy where ever she goes!
To see more of Strawberry Lolita, please visit us at Busy Beauties on PCP for links & chit-chatting fun, or use the DT blog roll on the left.

Ta-da! The Big Winner of the Busy Beauties Blog Hop is TheNeon!
Congratulations! TheNeon has won the entire current Busy Beauties line of images, and I know she is going to have a blast with them!
