Save the Hooters: A Fresh Brewed Designs Hop for Breast Cancer Awareness

Good Morning!!! and thank you for joining in on the Fresh Brewed Designs Save The Hooters blog hop. I'm so honored to be part of this special event! (((hugs 4 Heather!))) If you are getting here from Sheryl's blog then you are right on track. If not, please start off at the beautiful and talented Linda's blog.

We are so happy that you are joining us today as we spread smiles, share beautiful projects and most of all raise awareness.

The word "Cancer" is one that makes us all cringe and sometimes turn away. That does not make it GO AWAY it just means we try to avoid talking about it and pretending it is not there.
It is there and it is a reality. I know most of us have had family or friends who have been diagnosed with a form of cancer or know someone who has died of cancer related causes.

One of those cancers is Breast Cancer. In the year 2011 in the United States alone approximately 230,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer in women have been reported, approximately 57,650 new cases of carcinoma in situ (CIS) will be found (CIS is non-invasive and is the earliest form of breast cancer), and approximately 39,520 women will die from breast cancer.

Fresh Brewed Designs has created a brand new rubber stamp set as well as several digital stamps. When you purchase these designated products, a partion of your purchase will be donated to Chemo Angels.

If you have not heard about Chemo Angels we suggest you look them up. They are a wonderful organization. They support all forms of cancer as well as have ways to donate in the form of time, cards, as well as monetary donations. To find out more about how Fresh Brewed Designs will be taking part, read here.

For this hop I chose to use stamps from the "Save the Hooters" rubber set. I combined it with my go-to pink collection - Echo Park's Be Mine 12x12.

Fresh Brewed Designs is also sponsoring the Link Up For Pink.
This linking party will be held from October 1 - 14. Every project linked will be pink themed and there will be lots of opportunities for prizes. Grab the badge and be sure to save the date!

If you purchase the featured BCA stamp set or any of the BCA digital stamps, be sure to be watching for a special link in the tabs under the blog header at Freshly Brewed Challenges. There will be a special link up challenge just for you starting October 1st. We will allow back linking as long as you are using these images.

Your next stop on the hop will be Heather's blog.

Thank you again for hopping with is and helping spread the word.
Have a very blessed and beautiful day.

Inking Pink Blog Hop: Save the Tatas!

Welcome to our Inking Pink Awareness Hop! Our paper crafting community spans the globe and brings all of us together under a common roof. We are grandmothers, granddaughters, mothers, daughters, aunts, sisters, best friends, wives, cyber-friends and design team teammates. Many of us have family or friends touched by breast cancer and all of us want to encourage all of you to check yourself!

This hop will take you around the world, so please sit back with your morning coffee or evening tea and celebrate our stories and projects with us. Some of your fellow crafters along the hop are even offering blog candy! Please give a little comment love to each and every crafter along the way. We hope you enjoy our hop, and most of all we all want YOU to give yourself the greatest gift and do a self-check tomorrow. The more you do it, the more breast aware you will be!

Our hop starts at Patricia's blog so if you started some where else please head over there - you don't want to miss what we have for you. :) If you arriving from Carisa's blog, your hopping along in style!

I searched long and hard for the right image for my project today, and then happened upon this "Super Super Girl" image from my dear friend Heather's Fresh Brewed Designs line: Score! (Please note that Heather's shop in under construction, but you can contact her on the blog if you are interested in this or any of her other fab images!)

I wanted my project to be useful and relevant, so I altered a giant clothes pin to display the reminders for early detection.

I also found some great information, resources and support at the National Breast Cancer Foundation. (And for my conservative Christian friends, you may want to visit this link.)

As a personal THANK YOU for hopping with us today, I'm offering my project as part of this BLOG CANDY:

6x6 Sampler of Crate Paper's Pink Plum Collection (used on my project)
Pink Phone Book
(so you can call all your girlfriends and remind them to get mammograms!)
Assorted Coordinating Ribbons
Basic Grey Bittersweet Glazed Brads

To enter my random drawing, please leave a comment and make sure I am able to contact you.

Thanks for stopping by. Please head on over to Chelsea's blog to see what she has crafted up for you.
