I'm the first to admit, I feel awkward and useless during these times, afraid of saying the exact wrong thing at the worst possible time, etc. But one thing I always write in sympathy cards is that I hope their memories will be of comfort. And for my friends of faith, I always try to say something to remind them that God is with them. So, at a loss for a better sentiment, I chose "remember" from the Unity Confession kit. The hydrangea image is from an image swap a year or two ago. After tearing the edges, I took my never-before-used duster and dusted the entire thing with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen. I wanted to give it a bit more of a timeworn look and wasn't entirely happy with the edges, so I let my inner firebug out to play, and burned the edges with matches. (I *highly* recommend you due this is a fireproof basin with water &/or extinguisher at the ready.) I wanted to incorporate ribbon, and found this sheer pale blue in my ribbon jar. I cut slits on either side of the stem, and fed the ribbon through from the back.I hope that everyone reading this takes an extra moment today and everyday to tell someone you love them, create a new happy memory, remember the special times and give thanks to our Lord for all His blessings.
