Life's Simple Pleasures

I happened into SCS's Buy/Sell forum a week or so ago, and found a rather sad story that is becoming more and more familiar - a fellow crafter selling her goodies following her DH's layoff. She had some Unity stamps I'd been eyeing...how could I resist Unity at a good price AND the opportunity to do a good deed????? ;) As it turns out, my new friend lives about 2 hours away from me, and is just a sweetie and a half! So, rather than just send my payment in a plain old envie, I thought I'd try to spread some cheer with a card.

The dimensions, if memory serves, are 5-1/2 X 5-1/2. I used brown cardstock and yummy Basic Grey paper, a Poppy stamp from Bella Stamps, and SU Wondercolor Crayons with a Dove blender. The sentiment (hard to see) in the lower left corner says "Life's Simple Pleasures" and is from A*Muse.

It will never cease to amaze me how this cardmaking/stamping hobby can bring such wonderful people into my life. We are now looking forward to spring and a chance to meet for lunch. They say God works in mysterious ways....stamping must be one of them. Thank you all for your friendship, and God bless you.

Hugs,

You are so thoughtful!! I just LOVE this. Great stamp, great papers and I'm really digging the layout and dimensions of this card. What a way to encourage her as she waves goodbye to her beloved stamps. :)

That is very sweet of you Catherine - its a beautiful card. And how nice that the two of you might be able to get together. I've always said that stampers are some of the nicest people.

I've made some dear friend, both in person and via the Internet, through stamping and crafting and think it is great that you are reaching out to a fellow stamper in need.

Your card is stunning!!!! What can I say...I love every beautiful detail...the papers, the layout, the image, the photo corners, the sentiment, the EVERYTHING!!!! You are such a sweetheart to send your new friend this beautiful work of heART!!!
I also wanted to tell you how much I apreciate your offer to send Jonathon a care package. Unfortunately, he is not allowed to receive packages while he is in basic training. Once he gets to Arizona for AIT (tech school), he will be able to get goodies. I will get you his address as soon as he gets there. He graduates from basic next month, and I cannot wait to see him!!! Thank you for your kindness and your thoughfulness!!! I appreciate everything, and I know your new friend will appreciate and cherish this card more than you will ever know!!!
Love and Hugs!
Carolyn
