Sorry this is going up so late today! I wanted to snag a few more goodies and get a nice photo (sorry about the glare) for you to hopefully drool over! LOL!
Maybe I'm having a "mid-life" thing, but lately I'm taking stock. There is so much in life that I want to do and want to change about myself. I think I've really grown in the past year, but why stop there? I'm at a point in life where it's time to take the bull by the horns. "Be the change you wish to see in the world." I'm trying to take that and mix it with some good old "Think globally. Act locally." This mix of concepts applies to all aspects of life- from hair styles to recycling, accessorizing to activism. And in my crafting, it's giving me the urge to alter! Change is all about altering right? Whether it's an object or a person, a look or a purpose.
And that brings us to our blog candy theme! The candy, not all of which is pictured, is all about alteration: chipboard, canvas, wood, metal, distressing tools, paint, paper and ink. Throw in a good dose of embellies, and there you have it! In addition, the winner will receive a customized altered piece made by me!
To enter, all you have to do is:
1. Leave a comment to this post before midnight on Friday, June 26, telling me what change you want to make in your life, OR about your "alter ego".
2. Then invite all of your friends to play along by posting a link on your blog!
I'll randomly select and announce a winner that weekend.

Aw, you are so sweet! This is one sweet stash, just as you are! I love your personal reflection and life really is all about change and "coming into our own". We are so blessed to know you! x0x0x0
Oops, forgot the change! I think the change I'd like to be in the world is passing on the baton of caring to my children ~ to know that I have taught them to protect our environment and make the right choices (like recycling rather than throwing away) would be extending the arm of caring.
OOOOOO cool. Love the candy! I think I would like to alter time so that there was more of it to do things..oh wait..something about me. Two of me? No, that wouldn't be cool, I saw what happened to Michael Keaton in Mutilplicity. Hmmm. I think I would like to alter my nose. It's already quite the obstacle but they say that ears and noses never stop growing. Yikes. That means my nose is going to take over Seattle! LOL!! Thanks for the opp. Catherine!
Great post Catherine!
I have been thinking along the same lines for some time now. Some changes I am trying to implement in my life? WEll there are lots! But one thing I'm doing is trying to eat better. Buying locally grown and produced foods and eating as much fresh as possible!
Hello Catherine!
Woah, I can't get over how many great bloggers I find just randomly hopping around! You have a very simplistic and distinct style - not to mention the giggles some of your cards gave me (I have a big butt too, and my bf drives me crazy wobbling it... :D)
What would I change in myself? No, not the butt - bf likes it so it's okay ;P I am one of those people who need a deadline to get anything done. I have been writing my thesis for 3 years soon (oh my gosh it looks so bad when written down...), because no one is watching over my shoulder. I'd love to be able to pick myself up from the scruff of my neck and give myself a good kicking. I need to get it done...
But knitting and card making is so much more fun...
xx,
nunt
ps. of course added you to my reader and into my candybar <3
What a wonderful, inspiring, and creative theme, Ms. Catherine! You continually amaze me, and you are wise beyond your years, my friend!! There is always room for improvement with all of us, something I would like to change about myself, is my worrying. I really need to stop that, give my worries to God, and let His will be done. I'm working on it, but I need to work a little harder!! Thanks so much my sweet!!
Hi Catherine!! I'll post about your blog candy today!! (I'll probably put it under my "I'm Back" post, but I will still post it!!) Fun stuff!
I reflect and take stock myself once in a while. The biggest thing for me lately is ME. I really need to become a healthier person. I'm not as young as I used to be, and I must think about every single piece of food that I put into my mouth. I've let myself get way off track, and I have gotten to the point where I really, really, really need to lose a lot of weight. SO, vacation is over, and the healthier me thought process needs to take place every day! I just need to take it one day at a time! Wish me luck!!
God Bless Your Family. I'll post your blog candy in my blog to tell all my friends. The biggest thing form my life... All I desire in my life never stop learning and become the woman God wants me to be a hit I tell others that it is never too late to fulfill your dreams.
Catherine, I'm not sure if I want to thank you for this "challenge". There is much to be altered in what may remain of my life and I feel I haven't been a very good steward of the blessings God has bestowed on me the past several years. So I would like to change the way I take care of myself so that in doing so I will feel energized to go out once again and do for others in my community who could use my help. Thanks for this opportunity and for being such a good cyber friend!
Hi Catherine,
What a wonderful assortment of blog candy and an awesome theme.....I myself am in need of changing my life from hectic/cluttered to simpler and more serene....I need to rid my life/home of the unneccessary "things" and make room for the comfortable relaxing things...doing this would greatly help my innerself and the charities as well...
I don't have a blog but will tell everyone I know to come visit yours.
Hugs to you,
Carol
Look at this yummy candy Catherine and what a great theme behind it. I think for me I want to make a lifestyle change to eat healthy and become healthy so thta I can be a good role model for my daughter. I know I've missed out on many activities already because I'm just not comfortable in my skin.
I'll add to my blog! Great idea you are doing.
Sigh. There are so many things that I'd love to do in life. I think the one thing that will help everything else along is remember to keep family first. Spending time with them means the world to me. This summer I've done a good job of turning the computer off and spending more time outside :).
Oh I'm pokey but I'm catching up!
What a wonderful post, even without the candy. And I know just what you mean - hence my blog name :) Life is good and changes should be embraced because what would we be without.
hugs to you dear friend

The one thing I want to change in my life is to not worry about what others think. I have 2 girls under the age of 2 so it's time to watch what I say and do and raise them to be brave happy little girls.
Hey guys. I have to LOL at myself a bit. You know how you get an idea and it just keeps showing up in your life? Well, I just posted on SCS about how my "alter ego" is a vigilante.
Loving hearing about the changes you guys want to make. But does anyone have an "alter ego"???? Can you tell there's a *whole* other world that exists only btw. my ears? LOL!

Catherine! :) I am loving the altered theme of your candy! What a great idea! I'd like to alter a lot of things about myself, but if I had to pick one thing it would be to call my friends more. I have an aversion to using the phone. I know I'm a girl but I've never been one to talk on the phone! I'm awful about it. :(
Hi Catherine, Thanks for the awesome blog candy! I want to make more time for my family. We seem to have gotten away from spending lots of time together. Now that school is out for the summer, I definately want to set up more group activities that we will all enjoy.
Hi Cathrine!
Thanks for stopping by the blog. I have been such a bad blog buddy lately. Sheesh.... I just can't seem to quite get myself together.
What I want to change is to stop running from one thing to another like a crazy person! I tend to volunteer for too much and take on too many projects and then get all flustered, in a panic to get everything done. I need to learn to just say no! LOL!
Hope to be a better blogger once vacation Bible School is over..... :)
Hi Cathrine!
Beautiful candy and nice blog.Thank you for the chance to win. Linked your candy on my sidebar.
I wish to change just my house :)
I love myself... It's true...
Thanks and hugs...
I would love to move back to my hometown and be closer to my grandchildren. Thanks for a chance to win some fabulous 'candy'.
Thanks so much for the opportunity to win. :)
Hmm...what a great question! I'd love to change to a healthier lifestyle. I am starting to make changes like exercising everyday and drinking more water. :)
I've added your candy to my sidebar.

many thanks for a chance to win such lovely candy.
I have had alot of hard times during my life, had to make some very hard decisions that have made my life the way it is today. I am totaly contented now with a new husband of ten years who turned my life around so i quess i would change a thing as it would have a knock on effect on everyone in my life.
this was a very good question that i took some time to think about.
have a great day
love tracey x
Great Candy!
If I had to change something about myself, I would probably get into shape.... Not muscular, just well toned. Its something I've always thought about but never have had the time or money to join a gym.
Anyways, thanks for the chance to win... here is my blog post:
http://lindsaysdesign.blogspot.com/2009/06/candy-alerts.html
I'm thinking of changing my work right now. I feel like I don't have many opportunities now, but it's not so easy to make such a decision in this economic crisis. Maybe I should wait a little longer to make such a decision. Here's my link . Thanks for a chance to win such great candy! Greetings from sunny Belgium, Annelies
Wonderful candy, wonderful thoughts. What would I change? As I approach 60 life is beginning to look much differently through my eyes. I wish to change the fears and the worries, to the present, concentrating not on what might happen but what is happening. Enjoying life's simple pleasures and really seeing the day for what it has to offer.
Change is always good or I try to think that since it happens so often! I have posted on my blog at http://mamascroppingcollections.blogspot.com/
Anyway, I would like to change my recycling habits. I would like to try to recycle more than just tossing out my trash! I feel this will be better for my garbage men and our environment!

Hi! Love your work, fabulous!
I would like to live in some other country than Finland, and trying to make it happen. Don't know how fast it will take place but maybe some day =)

hello Cathrine
what wonderful things you are giving away for blog candy!
I would like to make more time for me and my crafting.
I've linked your candy on my sidebar. Thanks for the wonderful opportunity!
Greetings from Germany - Regina
Very inspirational!
There are a lot of things I would change in my life if I would have the power. But I don't and that is okay.
Wonderful candy! Thanks a lot for the chance to win.
You can find a link to your blog on my sidebar.
Cool candy!!!!! Love the blog!
Wow, Catherine! So funny that I happened to come across your blog just now since I have been thinking of life changes all day. Not sure what's going on with me but I just feel like I need to make a BIG change. I just can't put my finger on it quite yet. Hair? Weight? Clothes? My lifestyle? I'll have to get back to you.
Fabulous giveaway!!
xx Jane

Love all the goodies you are giving away and I've linked this on my blog. What would I like to change ~ I would love to lead a healthier lifestyle and implement that with my kids as well. I would also love to get rid of the clutter in the house ~ with 4 young kids, we have a lot of toys laying around and we truly don't need them all.
Thanks for the chance to win :)
Wow Catherine!
I love your blog. i am new to finding you. I loved snooping around looking at all of your creativeness!
my change for me, would be to be stronger, believing in myself more!
What scrummy candy...thanks for the chance to win it...I think what I'd like is to be a lot more organised instead of always rushing to get things done at the last minute.
Hi, Catherine!
Great candy!
I`ve posted link on my sidebar, welcome to my blog
http://helgahandmade.blogspot.com/
What is about changes, I wont to have more time for my family and favourit hobby (cardmaking and scrap, of course).
Hi Catherine, so fab candy, I linked you on my blog! If I had chance to change sth in my life it would be my picking the right college! Hugs, Moni
A change I would make is to move somewhere greener, the desert depresses me. But it is just not possible right now.
First the change, I wanted to get in cnotact with some old high school friends.....I did it and now have an email group of about 15 people...mind you 45 year reunion coming! You don't just do blog candy, you do blog candy gorging! How very generous you are.
I suppose we all desire change in one form or another. I think if I had to choose one, it would be that I would be better about my devotions. I do okay and then somehow I get de-railed and boom I'm out of the Word too long.
I'm having fun following this hop stuff. I don't blog yet, so don't know if that leaves me out or not.
Hi
The one thing that I would really like to change in my life is the amount of medication I have to take. I so wish there was a more natural remedy for pain relief that did not have the side effects of the medication available today.
Although a little late I have linked you on my sidebar.
Kim
WOW...awesome candy!! I would like to make exercise more fun so I wouldn't hesitate and make excuses not to do it. I know I would feel better both mentally and physically.
Thanks for the chance to win.
One thing I would like to change is crafting more and the next thing is eating right/excercising more.
Great Blog Candy! Thanks so much.
Emily
What wonderful blog candy!!
What I would change is to be able to relax and have more fun when I'm with my two sons, not worry about gettind dirty or messy and just play.
Hi Catherine ... Fab candy! I'm working on getting out as a family more. Since my husband works a lot my daughter and I will spend the day out having fun and that's ok but we need to focus more on having time as a whole family. So changing our schedule to suit his is what I am working on. So far we've been camping, to the river and a few movies as a whole family and we LOVE it! My favorite activity is reading together at night after dinner.
I added a link to your candy on my sidebar. Thanks bunches! Hugs and happy scrapping, Christine
One thing I would like to change is what I do with my free time. Ya know, just being more productive.
Wow, what a wonderful Blogcandy, thanks for the chance to win. I've linked you on my sidebar.....
Hugs
Heike
Love the blog candy!! My Alter Ego? My alter ego thinks she's still 17 (although next week I'll be turning 43!); and she thinks she can go all day and not pay for it the next. :)
(Of course, it may just have something to do with me not being in shape rather than my young age.)
What would I change? I'm actually pretty darn happy in this life right now. I mean I wish I had more money, more craft supplies, more artristic flair, more talent and ability, but really, life is good!
LOVE the blog candy!!!
Thanks so much for the chance to win!!!!
Although I have tried to do something everyday!!!
To "PAY IT FORWARD"
Pay for someones coffee behind me,
give someone extra coupons, sometimes just to stop and ask someone, "What can I do for you?"
I would like to do more of this
There is a GREAT lack of this out there!!!
Hugs
Beautiful candy .Thank you for the chance to win.
Hello Catherine - what a fabulous Blog - I have become a follower and will love doing that! What YUMBLY Candy...I have linked it to my Blog:
http://lovelylindascraftcentral.blogspot.com/
and would love you to visit!! I love your reflecting - something we all need to do more often. For me, the thing I would change (and really could if I wanted to) is my perspective...I can sometimes get so caught up with the menial that I forget about the big picture...so eay to do with day-to-day life....thank you for the 'food for thought!' Thank you again - God bless you!
If I could become a "planner", I'd get a lot more done. BUT...since I'm now 55, doubt it will happen! What a wonderful batch of candy! I have no blog, but would love to get in the mix! Thank you, Catherine.
What a sweet giveaway! You are making me think about this one...there are many things I have been trying to change..
I am trying to be a more caring person..not to judge anyone for anything. I am also trying to be more healthy. I am new to blogging so I don't have a blog yet but will add a link on my facebook page :)
Thanks for this great chance. I think I would like to do less procrastinating. I have beenworking on this for awhile, but I have some more work to do~
Wonderful stash of candy, and a great question to ponder as we head into the 2H of 2009. What change do I want to see in myself? Better health/stronger commitment to keeping myself healthy. It's so easy to get bogged down and make excuses. I've just got to make that commitment and stick to it.
What I want to change...I am trying to learn to live in the moment...not rushing ahead to what's undone, what's on tomorrow's list...staying in the here and no (sister abuse survivors will really relate to this!) To stop and enjoy...the dragonfly that landed next to me, the purring cat in my lap and ignoring the waiting laundry...to USE that stamp & craft stuff I keep saving for something special down the line...LIVE life-in the moment! Thanks for offering this chance. Blessings, Sharon
Hi Fantastic Candy you've got and great idea what would you alter.
For Me I'd Have to say trying to eat more healthy and shopping close to home. Right Now we are having a garbage strike and honestly it hasnt' started to effect me yet I try to buy things that have little packaging just over all being greener and cutting back on our carbon footprint. Also I'd love to have more time in the day to do everything I would like to .. but I think that is everyone
so have a great day and thanks for the chance
huggs Nikki C
